Yikes. Thanks for the heads-up. Not that I'm familiar with shiitake mushrooms, but it will now go on my list of non-edibles. Assuming that is all you do with em'. Parish the thought.

Yeah they do stink, but not so much after they have been cooked. I work at California Pizza Kitchen and we get them shipped to us by the box load! It's the same with Parmesan cheese. The cheese smells like feet! But melted on a pizza or pasta, not so bad. But I still have to smell those freakin' stinky foods most of the day. Like bad music, I just tune the smell out.

Are you a professional sock smeller or mushroom smeller?

Also, you should be happy anything called shiitake smells only as bad as socks, and tastes like it's the lovechild of a forbidden Tofu/Steak affair.

I'm a professional procrastinator. And actually I really like shitake mushrooms, despite the smell.

Procrastination is just a hobby of mine right now, but I'm working on making it a career.

Never had shiitake mushrooms, either, but I've "experimented" with plenty of others.

I'm going to listen to "Satellite". Not by Dave Matthews, but by Guster. Does anyone else like Guster?
